Lawyers for Plaintiffs would like to receive your name, home address, email address, and/or telephone number in order to potentially contact you regarding your personal experiences relating to Plaintiffs’ allegations in the lawsuit (see FAQ 2). You have the right to “opt out” and keep your contact information from being provided to Plaintiffs’ attorneys. Defendants have not yet provided any of this information to Plaintiffs. The Court has approved sending the Notice to you so that you can decide whether to prevent the disclosure of your name and contact information to Plaintiffs’ attorneys.
You are NOT required to share your contact information with counsel for Plaintiffs. However, if you do NOTHING after receiving the Notice, Defendants will be required to provide Plaintiffs’ attorneys with your contact information.
If Plaintiffs’ attorneys do receive your contact information, they must keep that information confidential and can only disclose it to other people who are working on this case. The Court has entered a Protective Order prohibiting any of that information from being distributed to anyone who is not participating in this case. Plaintiffs’ attorneys are only allowed to use that contact information for purposes of this case, and you will be under no obligation to speak with them if they do contact you.
